In addition to y library work, I write a monthly column, Library Voice, in the Central Coast Family monthly paper, hang out with my daughter in San Francisco, and tell stories at venues other than the library such as the Live Oak Music Festival. I read, love movies and do both at home with my dog and two cats.
Shawnita was born and raised in Alabama. She has lived on the Central Coast for 10 years and has worked in the library since 2005. Shawnita loves to travel whenever possible. When not traveling, she enjoys reading books that allow her to visit the most distant parts of the world. She is also a fan of historical fiction. Shawnita has an artistic side that can sometimes be seen around the library, especially in her creative book displays. She always enjoys meeting new people who come into town and stop by the SLO library.
