Atrium NorthIf you have been in the Library in the last few weeks, you should have noticed that the upper walls in the atrium that opens to the second floor have been involved in changes.  First the existing lights were removed and new LED lights added.  Now, a mural is in the process of being created to adorn those upper walls.

The 2013 Annual SLO Friends of the Library Luncheon was a great success. With more than 50 attendees, Leigh Rubin, noted cartoonist, author and speaker, shared many of his famous cartoons providing insight into his motivation and inspirations for those creations.

Most attendees were continuously smiling and laughing. Obviously, some less twisted than others.

He was not only humorous and entertaining, but left the audience encouraged and feeling positive about life.

1st Vice President Laura Lehmann

Prior to Leigh’s presentation, Laura Lehmann, 1st VP of the Friends, conducted the annual meeting of the nonprofit corporation.  She summarized much of the previous year’s activities and asked the members to approve the new terms of several board members.  All were approved.
